Project Scope

Consolidation of all Chemistry QC Lab functions to support operations at Hospira’s Rocky Mount production site into a state-of-the-art facility. Project consists of laboratory space to operate 24 hours per day/ 7 days a week,  Office space for QC Lab scientists, technicians, and management, and FDA Audit space. Corporate commitment to develop a center of excellence for lab functions.

Original Basis Of Design

Hospira, Inc. plans to expand the Center of Excellence for CQ Testing at its Rocky Mount, NC site. This project is expected to “break ground” in July 2012, and will consist of a new approximately 60,000 sq. ft. structure.

The new building will be developed using a design build methodology and will include:

  • State-of-the-art Chemistry/Analytical Laboratory on the first floor with a Site Welcome Center.
  • Regulatory Inspection rooms, conference/break-out rooms, office areas, and audit space on the second floor.
  • Office areas, conference/break-out rooms, and document storage on the third floor.
  • Each of the three floors will be designed with ~20,000 sq. ft.
